Play Ball

Tomorrow in an event unlike any other... Tomorrow the Radio Ramblers will take the field at Cottonwood Softball Complex and begin to make their mark on Salt Lake County Parks and Rec. slow pitch co-ed softball league, forever.

Actually I really wanted to play softball this summer so I organized a team consisting of my friends, and a few co-workers. We have 16 players, half men and half women and will be playing every Wednesday evening until July 26th. We'll be going up against teams such as; JC Penny, Larry Miller Toyota, Jana's Ceramic Mud House and Swizzle Stix. Difficult and legendary teams indeed.

I wish people would take it a little more seriously though. I really wanna win. I'm going out there to win games and eventually win trophy's, not just to dick around, but it seems like a lot of people (mainly on my co-workers side) are taking things pretty lightly. Already for our first game I've had 3 people tell me that their going to be late. That would be cool under most circumstances but in this league they make you take automatic outs for every player that is not there until they show up. So, unless these people get there quickly after the game starts, we have to take automatic outs for them every time their up to bat until they actually show up. Oh well, I guess I'm team manager and it's my team so I'll just punish the ones that are continually late by not playing them very much.

Either way it's gonna be awesome. Wish us luck, we're gonna need it!
